High Ground is inspired by Ngár-go, the traditional Woi Wurrung name associated with the Fitzroy area - often understood as “high ground.”
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live, work and come together, and recognise that sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and honour the enduring cultural significance of this place.

Located on Wurundjeri Country, HIGH GROUND is a live music series inspired by Fitzroy’s traditional name, Ngár-go - an area long synonymous with creative independence, resistance, and pushing boundaries.
